Short Biography

I am currently working in the school of education and social sciences, department of humanities in the University of Embu. I am a lecturer in Kiswahili linguistics and the examinations coordinator in the department of humanities. I am also a member of the board of post graduate studies in the Department of Humanities. I also mentor post graduate students who are doing their masters and Ph.D. studies at different levels. I am a Christian and a member of Fellowship of Christian Unions (FOCUS) currently serving as the campus and Faculty Facilitator in Mt. Kenya Region. I am honest, focused, result oriented, diligent and a well-balanced individual who loves team work and service to humanity.

Research Interests

My research interests are in applied and social linguistics but I also have interest in other areas of linguistics such as historical linguistics, language and gender, language death and language shift, Kiswahili literature especially on gender issues, theories, Kiswahili poetry, drama and novel.
